Good Times, Sunshine, & Summertime

Hot. Sums up the weeknd. Extremely hot. Despite the heat it ended up being a great weekend.

1. "Storming the Bastille" 5K run with a my all-star track friend. Final time: 25:17!
2. Dinner & Mojito Madness at one of my favorite eastside restaurants with the family.
3. Interesting conversations with friends led to drinks out on the terrace downtown which led to sandy feet at the beach.
4. Walking to the beach at the early hours of the morning, returning with sandy feet, a flower, and a hurt toe.
5. From the sounds outside you would think we lived near a naval base for the weekend.
6. Accomplishing a much needed Spring Cleaning...err...Summer Cleaning of the house.
7. To get out of the heat we decided ice cream would do us good-my new favorite-Green Tea Yogurt a la Lixx.
8. My favorite bar had an awesome pre-party to what would be the best concert ever.
9. The most amazing country couple=Tim and Faith!

Timing is Everything

Time is the one thing that you wish would slow down, speed up, pause, reverse, or go back. Timing is especially important when it comes to relationships. I'm out of the past-but somehow the ex's still keep popping back up. Why? And it happens all at once, too. Running into the ex walking home, another one claiming their dreams were running wild with you in them, and another at the gym. Are you serious? And all within 1 day of each other. My one motto that I have been holding true to is, "If it didn't work out in the past, it's not going to work out." If it failed in the past-it was not meant to be.

And when you do meet the really good ones that you could actually picture a relationship with...they live in Minnesota, or Madison, or anywhere BUT Milwaukee. Once again, Are you serious?

On the bright side...time has been flying when it comes to seeing my best friend who is currently abroad in Deutschland. Yes, the Deutch! The past 4 months have seriously flown by and she comes home next week! Which calls for a lot of craziness the rest of the summer. :)

Weekend Adventures

1. Finally having my first Mojito at my favorite hometown Irish pub...thanks to my favorite hometown bartender who specially made it a "Mojito Friday Just For Dani!"
2. Getting all dolled up as a "practice" for the upcoming wedding.
3. Motorcycle ride through the country hills with a certain someone on the perfect summer afternoon.
4. Swimming in the kettle under willow trees after cannon balling into the lake like a kid again.
5. Playing wedding planner helping with the final details for the wedding.
6. Baha-ing down through the woods in the John Deer Gator with the family through the rain-to cover the boat in time for the rain.
7. Getting to talk to my best friend who is oceans away-who will be home in T-16 days!
8. Catching up with one of my best friends in the car for a good 1.5 hours as the rain/hail pounded down. Finally leaving the car and seeing my favorite band on the closing night of Summerfest.
9. Rain + Black flip flops + Summerfest= Black stained feet; even after washing three times.

Inspiration

Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.
