"I'm Not Wearing a Backpack!"

A weekend of goodbyes, see you soons, and "Hello lovas!" Friends are going back to college, friends are staying in the same old same old, an old*good friend returned from finally finishing his time in the Marines, as one leaves for a 6-yr. term in the Navy.

A re-cap:
1. Finding out I passed my online class with a rocking grade, considering I did most of my homework the day it was due. Note to self: Take WINTER classes.
2. Playing Cupid by convincing and helping put a co-worker on Match.com. Word to the wise: Make things sound like you are the hottest tamale out there and you will get "winked" at.
3. Saying goodbye to the funniest guy I know-as he begins his journey in the Navy.
4. Janelle and I thinking "I LOVE IT!" in a SNL type of way was the funniest thing since "Freaking Idiot!"-Napolean Dynamite. Also dancing to Jock Jams with your close group of friends somehow wasn't embarrasing.
5. During our guys vs. girls flip cup game the guys misunderstood my shrug cardigan for a backpack. "I'm NOT WEARING A BACKPACK!" Because I thought they were taking a stab at my outfit. Too much flip cup at this point.
6. Starbucks coffee DOESN'T always do the trick. Humph.
7. Cheering on my guys for their pro-football game and Beer Olympics makes a girl wanna blow a whistle!
8. For the first time in my life questioning my safety and a lot of my fears coming true. Meaning to "Peeping Tom" came to life. Not scared or afraid, but terrified.
9. Bumming around Silver Lake with my BeSt BuDs sippin on mojitos and mowing on taco dip, I love it!
10. Spending the day with another BF shopping our heels off! Newest love: COACH Outlet.

"Tim McGraw"

You said the way my blue eyes shined, Put those Georgia stars to shame that night I said: "That's a lie"
Just a boy in a Chevy truck, That had a tendency of gettin' stuck, On backroads at night An' I was right there beside him all summer long An' then the time we woke up to find that summer'd gone
But when you think: Tim McGraw, I hope you think my favorite song
The one we danced to all night long: The moon like a spotlight on the lake
When you think happiness, I hope you think: "That little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest, An' my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw, I hope you think of me September saw a month of tears, An' thankin' God that you weren't here, To see me like that
But in a box beneath my bed, Is a letter that you never read, From three summers back
It's hard not to find it all a little bitter sweet, An' lookin' back on all of that, it's nice to believe: When you think: Tim McGraw, I hope you think my favorite song
The one we danced to all night long: The moon like a spotlight on the lake
When you think happiness, I hope you think: "That little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest, An' my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw, I hope you think of me
And I'm back for the first time since then: I'm standin' on your street,
An' there's a letter left on your doorstep, An' the first thing that you'll read: Is: "When you think: Tim McGraw, "I hope you think my favorite song"
Some day you'll turn your radio on, I hope it takes you back to that place
When you think happiness, I hope you think: "That little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest, An' my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw, I hope you think of me Oh, think of me,
You said the way my blue eyes shined, Put those Georgia stars to shame that night I said: "That's a lie"

"A 10-POINT BUCK!"

So how often do you wake up at 5 a.m. to let your dogs out...still half asleep and realize what you're seeing out the window is yes indeed a ridiculously huge buck. Not very often, but I did.

Take a look.

Refreshing

Weekend Buzz:

1. Celebrating a friend's bday, sailing away with the gang, ending the night taking pictures w/ the almost full moon, and saddned saying an early goodbye to a close friend leaving for service.

2. Upside down margs & s'mores.

3. Trying to get words out to have a conversation as Janet and I quickly slurped up our ice cream. Dishes next time, not cones!

4. Change is inevitable. People leaving, families growing, relationships being tested, friends showing their amount of care for one another, returning to old ways and old friends.

5. Putting an extra step foot forward for that certain someone. . .

6. Embarrassed to admit I am digging Paris Hilton's new songs.

7. Dealing with crazy grandmothers is difficult. Now I know what my mom had to go through.

8. Chocolate from the Swiss is delicous and it's great to have the newlyweds back. :)

"I've Got This Fresh Feeling"

1. For the first time ever I was told to take my seat at a Love Monkeys concert. Come again? Then security gave in and we could dance. Thank goodness!
2. 20 oz. cups of beer are dangerous.
3. Some things remain the same with certain friends. This can be a blessing or a heart ache. In my case a blessing-
4. Drinking only water at a dive bar but still forking over my I.D. because I was carded--for water...
5. Glad to have my other half back in town for the rest of summer. We still even dress alike.
6. Being surprised my potentials making extra efforts-and all at once.......hmmmmm..........

And a cute pic of Jani and Dani~ :)

Life is Good

So life is good on the homefront. Dad and Terry hitched at the most beautiful venue in Milwaukee. Best friend home from Germany. New favorite restaurant downtown. An older, but intriguing gentlemen is courting me. Yes, courting. You know, like how they do it down in the south. Think: a southern gentlemen having a great amount of respect for his lady friend, saying sweet nothings, always looking into my eyes. Yes, I do admit-I like the courting. Lots of fun summer adventures planned for the rest of August-can't wait! Kayaking, up north trip (hopefully), cliff diving, wakeboarding, Noah's Ark, booze cruises, and summer concerts. Loves summer!

(This last picture is our rendition of the man in black's "Jackson." I think we did a great job!)
