God's Handwriting

John Oxenham wrote this in 1913:

He writes in characters too grand
For our short sight to understand
We catch but broken strokes, and try
To fathom all the mystery
Of withered hopes, of death, of life,
The endless war, the useless strife, -
But there, with larger, clearer sight,
We shall see this-His way was right.

Text Messaging and Yoga?

While walking into my spinning class last week I walked past a yoga class going on. What caught my eye was a woman in class doing the downward facing dog or what have you while texting! What? Yoga is your time to yourself to regroup and relax. Keep the cell phone in your locker!

Watching the Leaves Fall

As the leaves are changing every week, I am making sure to take in all the colors and soak it all up before the leaves are gone. Hiking in Wisconsin has never been more beautiful. Every time I am out on a trail I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful area. I always wonder if people who live in metropolitan areas crave doing things like this? Anyways, today I literally watched the leaves fall. We were out at Pike Lake and the leaves were just falling so rapidly and beautifully that we staked out a spot off the trail and soaked it in. It was like it was snowing colorful leaves.

When I am rushing through the work week that seemingly turns into a busier week than normal, I always look forward to the weekends. For obvious reasons, and because this is my time spent with my best friend and my love. I have tried not to haul through the weeks as much because that time is valuable, too. It's October already and I am trying to slow down the process of winter coming. I can't obviously, but come December I love hibernating by the fire and a good book. I am glad that I am taking these moments to step back and breathe in the fall air, look up and see the rain of leaves, and truly embrace each moment. Fall is definetley my favorite season and I am glad it's here. The pumpkin pie, the carmel apples, the apple cider, the fall leaves, the crisper air, the hauling out of warm clothes, fall is a great season. It's hard when you want to rush through the boring parts of the week or day, but God is always near your side and working his ways in places and things you may not think.
